I've got to say I prefer blended whisky to a single malt, its generally smoother and easier to drink alot of. Having said that its hard to beat the Macallans.
JD is great but I've got to be in the mood for bourbon

you know how some of us guys have to put on a bit of an act sometimes, we have to set our faces into our coping scowl, but underneath, we're too well aware of just how soft we are?
well.. what music to the big guys here only, not you wimpy bunch, brings a tear to your eye or which films is it that you need to keep a box of tissues handy by you to wipe away the dampness in your eye?.
for celtic it's a track by dido - white flag and also black eyed peas - where is the love?
The one track that brings a knot to my throat is from Elvis - 'Don't cry daddy'. It was playing on the car stereo the day my mum died.
one soldier?s viewpoint of iraq.
greetings (names withheld).
as i head off to baghdad for the final weeks of my stay in iraq, i wanted to say thanks to all of you who did not believe the media.
the original mail is bogus, girls were schooled before the war, Iraq was a secular state not the backward islamic regime like Iran
hey!
shotguns post got me thinking.
post your story is 3 sentences or less, if possible.
Born a 3rd gen dub to violent elder father and a mother who died when i was 16
Got laid and DF'd at 18
Got a life
bloomin hec, i go on like this and i'll be so cleaner living person that day in witlesses will pale in comparison.. as some of you know, i gave up smoking cannabis several weeks ago, and to be honest, don't really find i'm missing it, was sending me cuckoo la la too much.
cut my drinking way back, this past winter, i was concerned that the amount i was intaking was getting a bit out of hand, plus not all the time, did i like what it was doing to me, and i'm sure others thought i was quite loopy on the stuff too, so, down to just a tinny a night now, 'cept for last night when i had 5 or 6, the post shows the effect, though of course, i did write that just for a laugh.. i got up this morning, smoked my usual hand rolled tobacco, and thought why the hell am i doing this, smoking me little cancer stick, even the taste of it is foul, disgusting.
so, just now i thought right thats it, so i slapped a 10mg patch on my arm and have decided to give it a ruddy good crack at giving it up all together as of now.
Mark, well done. I stopped smoking cigs about 6 months ago and it was reasonably easy. I used the Allen Carr book which worked brilliantly for me. I'm still smoking dope (especially lying out on the grass in the sunshine) just until Glasto is passed and then I am giving up totally.
Keep it up!
i am sure this post will anger a few people, and i respect that some find the idea of killing an animal repulsive.
all i ask is that, if you reply, you concentrate more on what you think of hunting and culling, rather than posting insults that i am a brute etc.
unfortunately it is a sad fact of life, that sometimes it is necessary to kill one or many animals to make sure things stay in balance.
lol!
culling is killing off some of them to thin the numbers - farmers go out with dogs and dig out their sets, letting the dogs tear them to bits. The ones that get past the dogs get shot gunned
i really hesitate to post this, because it's very weak for me to ask.
i am asking because i am emotionally distraught.
i am losing another brother.
(((CG))) sorry to hear your news, losing someone close is heart breaking, even more so when you feel helpless because they are still in the thrall of this cult. Keep your chin up babe

*Thread steal alert*
What do people think about the culling of badgers to stop the spread of TB to cattle?

hunting is one thing - perfectly normal and part of nature. To deny the natural order of things is naive, but this is just down to irresponsibility. You should always get your cats fixed as soon as you get them and to just shoot them because they are an inconvenience now is crap. I can understand you are being pragmatic now the deed is done - the cats will starve if they are all left but the owner needs a good bitch slapping for being so lazy.
hi folks!
i realize that the subject that i've chosen here can indeed arouse the emotions, but i believe that most here have control of their emotions and can therefore be reasonable while discussing this topic.
some of you believe in god and the bible, and some of you don't; but, whatever your station in life is i'm sure that you won't mind expressing your personal opinion.
your question displays some of the hypocracy of christianity. Throughout the old testament gods people butchered their way through the middle east and soldiers were quite rightly revered. For some reason some mainstream churches seem to think that its demeaning to be a soldier - it isnt
